Argentine submarines in the Falklands War (Video)
The Multipurpose Room (SUM) of Museum Submarine Force (MDQ) is projected to visitors an interesting video showing the action of the Argentine submarine during the Falklands War in 1982. Made by the people of www.elSnorkel.com (site which incidentally I recommend) focuses on the military actions carried out by submarine ARA Santa Fe (S-21) and ARA San Luis (S-32) .
These submarines belonged to two different generations. The ARA Santa Fe had been acquired by the Navy in 1971 , following a transfer agreement between the governments of the United States and Argentina. He had served as USS Catfish (SS-339) in the U.S. Navy and was a GUPPY II class submarine (conversion and modernization of submersible Balao Class Fleet , 1945) that integrated third generation of submarines ARA.
The ARA San Luis instead was part of the Fourth Generation , a proposed acquisition of modern German submarines. Purchased in sections, was armed at the national yard Tandanor and joined the ARA in 1974. Part of Class submarines IKL 209 (1200) how good yields gave Germany on export of military equipment on ships.
Both ships and their crews out in heroic and daring missions of war, against an opponent to be feared, the Royal Navy, which had the leading role in NATO anti-submarine warfare. A true battle of cat and mouse.
know a little more about the history of these two submarines, their brave men, and their participation in the South Atlantic Conflict . Then the video divided into three parts.

Museum Submarine Force (MDQ) - Visit 2 (January 2011) Bleached
This summer I visited the Museum Submarine Force located on the North Jetty of Playa Grande, in the city of Mar del Plata .
On my visit last year had risen by post (see entry on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 "Recommended: Museum of Submarine Force (MDQ)" ) which had roughly that we can find there.
The following entries will relate and illustrate with a little more depth (pun used the word given the topic), which is displayed in it.
The bono contribution is going the same two bucks last year Here did not have inflation! If you are interested in the topic Go to visit it, you can also bring you a souvenir of your store (books, posters, badges, metal and / or embroidery, hats, models, etc.).
