The Armada Argentina acquired in 1948 , ten (10) Higgins torpedo boats veteran of World War 2 . In the early 60's, only 4 remained active, with two them the P-80 (LT-1) and P-87 (LT-8) transferred to Argentina PNA (PNA .)

The PNA they are lightened by taking away some of weaponry are removed the torpedo tubes, 40mm Bofors mounts fore and aft, and rocket launchers positioned on the touchline, leaving only the two mounts double 12.7 mm machine guns on the sides of the bridge. The space gained back the bridge is occupied by a boat and a life raft.

The classic naval ships of the Armada Argentina is replaced by the distinctive pure white vessels in service in PNA . Only the cover remains gray. On both sides of the hull and bow are painted to the indicative assigned to these units: and GC-32 GC-33 .

UNITS PNA
GC-32 - In service from 1961 to 1963 (Ex P-80 / LT-1 of the Navy 1948/1961) . Sold for scrap in Mar del Plata for dismantling in the late '60s.
GC-33 - In service from 1961 to 1966 (Ex P-87 / LT-8 Navy 1948/1961). Crowned in 1966, was engined and rebuilt as a boat ride and is currently sailing in Mar del Plata tourist by the name of Leonardo da Vinci . Related Links
